Emma is 3 months already

Well time has flown by once again and our baby is now 3 months old.  So that means yes, I am back at work and Emma has now started day care.  We are lucky enough that she is at the same location as her big sisters so it makes life a little more easy on us.  Plus we love our day care provider so we are extremely blessed there.
Here are some recaps of the month:

Hanging out outside in the nice weather after work watching our big sisters play.  She is very content to just take it all in.
chilling in the Bumbo, not too sure what to think about that whole experience, but she has really great head control so it will get easier.
Napping with Daddy while we still took a paci...
Getting some time in the exersaucer.  Her feet did not touch the bottom to start with and we had to put a pillow down there, now one of her feet can touch!  You can see she is working on sucking her thumb there.
Passed out on the exersaucer after about 10 minutes of playing
Floor time and toys!

Emma @ 3 Months
  • Now sucks her thumb, won't take the paci at all, and hasn't figured out how to suck her thumb unless she is laying down.
  • Sleeping 10-12 hours at night :)
  • Still taking a morning and afternoon nap
  • Loves to sit up and take in everything around her.
  • Smiles at her big sister's voices and songs they sing to her.
  • Is starting to drool like crazy - we expect to see some teeth on the bottom very soon.  I thought I felt a bump the other night already!
  • Very content to hang out on the floor and play.  Loves her floor gym and the bouncy seat.
  • Favorite spot is still sitting on Daddy's lap so she can see everything
  • Almost rid of her cradle cap
  • Had her first trip to Iowa City.

Now a couple updates on the rest of the family:
Abby was the kindergarten representative for Mrs. Crawford's class for the Jr. High Homecoming Carnival so we got all dolled up and she was very beautiful for the Carnival coronation. Of course Megan is strutting her stuff too, just as cute.
Abby and her friend Carter who was the boy rep for Ms. Schmidt's class.  Carter's mom did Abby's hair and it was gorgeous.  She got a lot of compliments and we thought she looked as good as the queen candidates!
Here's Abby with the queen, she said she voted for her, so I guess it all worked out.
A little family photo (minus Emma) before an outfit change, because we needed that dress for the next weekend.  Don't worry, Emma was in good Grandparent hands.
This past weekend we were lucky enough to celebrate our neighbor's daughters wedding.  4/5 of the Schmidt's were involved.  Abby and Megan were the best behaved flower girls ever.  And we have been in a few weddings to see some not so good examples that didn't cooperate.  It was a beautiful day and we hope Angie and Jar are enjoying their honeymoon in the Bahamas!
And yes, we did make applesauce again.  But it was twice the affair and added a few new items, or at least tried to make them.  Final results were:
30.5 qts Applesauce
.5 qts Apple Butter
1.5 qts Apple Jelly

We know the applesauce is good, we've heard the apple butter is okay, apple jelly - not so much, we're not "gel"-ing.  Maybe better luck next year.  We did have 4 generations of Tim's family making applesauce though which was a nice thing to see.  And with all the help it actually went pretty quickly compared to just Tim and I doing it.  Megan was a trooper as well and worked the foley mill for over an hour!

That's a pretty good round up of the Schmidt's for now.  We're looking at a pretty busy October, so let's hope we survive!

Ahhh Emma looks so cute.. I need to get some loving in before she is a crazy toddler! She looks so much like Abby in all her pictures.

I love the family wedding picture...you all look awesome in blue. Too bad it wasn't Cardinal red instead :)

Back to work sucks...but now your back to blogging :), we missed you.

We love the Schimdts!
