Weekend Activities

This weekend we headed to Collinsville and Lebanon IL. This weekend was the weekend where Tim's family made deer sausage. It was the first time it was done before dark! They worked so well so I'm hoping everyone comes back next year. I got out of it again, Megan helped with that. We have some pictures of the weekend and a special quilt that Tim's Grandma Schmidt (Doris) made prior to her passing. We got it this weekend and I wanted to share photos of the detail. It is beautiful and we will treasure it and make sure Megan knows about her Great Grandma.

Trains and blocks are the perimeter.
Very neutral since we didn't know if Megan was a boy or girl. Tim's Grandma kept asking if we knew if it was a boy or girl just to make sure she couldn't put some pink on it. She asked us at Christmas too for a final time. We are very lucky to have this for Megan.
Here is Abby driving in the tractor with a second cousin Katie and a neighbor Alex. Alex also let us borrow his 4-wheeler and Tim, Abby, and I took a little drive around the property.
Tim and Abby in the tractor. She had to touch all the buttons and knobs of course.
Saturday morning there was a "50th Anniversary Little People" party at TOys R Us. It wasn't exactly what we were hoping for but Abby got to enjoy the fire truck with Bert and Ernie on the way out.
Abby in a Little People car that she'll never get to own, but was fun to play with. It didn't make any noise though but she still enjoyed being driven around by Grandma Schmidt.
Just another cute picture of Abby. We stayed at TIm's sister's house and she had some hats out in the room that Abby had to try on. She enjoyed the dress up.

Megan is 1 month now and yes I will try to get some more pictures out soon of her. She is growing like crazy and is pretty much too long for her 0-3 month sleep n plays already. We're in to some 3-6 month clothes already! She is doing well and sleeping pretty well too. We're pretty lucky. MOre pictures to come!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

We hope everyone enjoyed some green beer. It was a first where we didn't have our annual party but hopefully we'll have one this summer to celebrate St. Pat's a little late. I hoped to get a picture of both girls but Abby came home covered in purple juice and dirt. She's at least enjoying the good weather and playing hard.

It's hard to believe that Megan will be 1 month old tomorrow!

Megan's 3 week update and other Schmidt activities

Three weeks have just flown by! Megan is now up to 9 lbs. 6 oz, which if you can believe it is larger than Abby was at 3 weeks by 4 oz. She seems taller as well but they didn't measure her so Tim and I will be checking that out tonight. She is sleeping 5-6 hours at night followed up by another 4 hours so Tim and I aren't as sleep deprived as the first week. I was concerned about her not eating enough but based on her weight gain she is getting plenty. We've had some more visitors and outings so here are some photos. Also thank you for all the gifts that have showed up. Thank you cards are slowly yet surely coming.

Uncle Tony with Megan before bedtime.
Abby enjoying yet another cupcake.
Some sweets for Buddy too.
Aunt Colleen and Abby about to frost the cupcakes.
Dora decorations!!!

We took an outing with the Slenker's to Bonkers and this is Abby and Tim at the top of one of the slides. This was her first time on the 4 and over side so I made Tim travel with her. He really appreciated it and I think was a little sore from it all.
Tim and Abby in another bridge that probably isn't the most fun for Tim.
Abby's at least having fun!

Jenn & Ashley Cowan, and Aidan and Wendy Resnik stopped by for a visit while my parents were here as well and Abby enjoyed the dress up time. Unfortunately we didn't get a picture of Aidan dressed up as Snow White, complete with high heels. I'm sure Scott would be proud.

That's about all from the Schmidt family. I'm recovering well from my surgery as well. Enjoying my time at home and trying to figure Megan out and get her on a schedule. I just wish the time didn't go by so quickly.
